Shake it Like a Salt Shaker at Sea Salt Fish Grill
What do you after a HUGE rainfall in L.A. --well first after getting over the fact that it rained at all in SoCal--then you grab your favorite rain boots because it's not like you get to wear them that much and head out the door to grab something to warm you up.
Tonight I was thinking about soup and I also wanted some seafood...not sure how they that combo came together...but hey the tummy wants what it wants. I looked up a few places before deciding to try Seasalt Fish Grill in Downtown LA.
I got lucky with parking and found a spot right outside. The Grill is a new chain restaurant, the other location is in Santa Monica. I guess this is their new smaller location.
It's causal, easy and pretty fast. I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup-to satisfy my first craving and to warm up a little.
It's hearty with a little kick and chicken, red and pinto beans, tomatoes, avocado and crunchy tortilla strips. Hit the spot and I was ready for the main show, I ordered the Grill Salmon with the Spicy Cajun sauce---I guess I was getting ready for my trip to NoLa tomorrow!
The salmon was served with white rice, grilled veggies and a side of fresh salsa. The Salmon was hot, but the rest of it was cold. Which kinda was a let down.
I'm not reviewing Seasalt Fish Grill---that's really the point of this blog---I am more talking about the experiences that I have at each of the places I try including the food. The place is casual and fast as I said, it also reminded me of NYC while sitting at the counter I did a lot of people watching---which can be fun and definately interesting Downtown. Though the food itself isn't memorable the timeout and people watching was.
