Hump-Day Revamped: Wednesday can be as fun as a Friday
I don't think I would be alone in saying that I have woken up and asked myself "OMG why is it only Wednesday?" before crawling out of bed. Wednesdays have gotten a bad rap we have even given it a kinda shitty name "hump day"...when I think of "humps" I think of the ones in the street that make you feel as though you are on a bad roller coaster ride. No mas! But today unlike most Wednesdays becasue it included a solid break with co-workers and friends alike was not your normal mid-week snooze.
How could you not have a good lunch with these peeps?! The short answer is you really can't, they are funny, smart, sweet and just some the best people I know. Today's lunch really had no major objective other that to grab lunch and chat. Sometimes lunches do not have to have an agenda it's just lunch with some good people. Helping you to forget it's Wednesday and making your return to the office an easy transition back to the multiple tasks and e-mails waiting for you.
Okay so let's get to the other good stuff the food! We popped into Oleego by Park BBQ for lunch in at their new Chinatown location. Oleego is the newest fast casual concept that has already proven popular downtown, mixing Parks BBQ meats with noodles, rice or greens, and then topping the whole thing with whatever sauce you’d like — and all for around $10. Not bad for lunch DTLA. The ordering is pretty straight forward 1. order your meat 2. order what you's like the meat over (rice, noodles, greens) and then 3. order your sides and sauces. Done!
Oleego is quiet and relaxed and the food is fresh and good. As one of our friend's said "I judge my Asian restaurants by their noddles and these are good"
I don't rate places, but if I did that would be a good scale...how good were the noddles? was it 1 cup of noodle or 5! haaa. okay I will give Oleego 4 cups of noodles.
