Baldoria DTLA: Your Grown and Sexy Bar + Kitchen
I had the pleasure of chatting with David Karl King the owner of the new Italian bar + kitchen Baldoria in Downtown LA. David has been in the restaurant industry since he was 17 years, but has passion for good food goes back even further than that all the way back to his Italian grandmama's kichen. David really believes that you should over your guests foods that are in season "your not going to find a Winter salad on our menu in the Spring or Summer" that's why their menu changes.
I asked David what was one of his favorites on the menu and he suggested the Charred Octopus pizza ( I was happy he said that one, because I wanted to try it so bad) so it was a good sign we were thinking the same thing.
The Charred Octopus pizza was amazing with tender baby octopus, caramelized cipollini, charred radicchio cream sauce for $14. Favor is on point savory and crispy.
Baldoria has a great vibe you can feel it from the moment you walk in and that's been very well thought out by David and his team. David shared that he wanted to great a space that had a Mediterrean feel based on aperitivo (Italian for Happy Hour) where you can bring your friends or a date and enjoy over a dish or two or four paired with a glass of wine or cocktail.
So go for Happy Hour, dinner and drinks with the girls or fellas or go for a date with that special someone.
There is something for everyone.
