Welcome to the Houz...Drink Houz!
Drink Houz (DH) is in the houz and like any good home is inviting and cozy and that's exactly what you get from the moment you walk through the front door. I was greeted by Efrain the sweet and talented chef when I walked in he asked me a few questions mainly what I was in the mood for and then made a few suggestions before I decided on the Fresh Sandwich ($12.95) their turkey sandwich with avacado, lettuce, red onion and garlic aioli on sourdough bread. OMG...fantastic and fresh hence the name I take it. Efrain hooked it up all the way.
Next I tried the Drink Houz's three signature coffee drinks prepared by the head barista Bernie.
Let's start off with the beet latte. Yes, beet latte. There is no coffee or caffeine in their beet latte. It is beet juice, steamed milk and a little vanilla. The earthiness of the beet juice is subtle, but present. The milk and vanilla made the latte very rich and sweet. I like my lattes to be creamy and not very sweet and I couldn't finish it. Pretty to look at but not my idea of a latte.
Next, Matcha Green Tea latte which was rich and creamy with a very smooth taste. So much better that the beet latte.
And finally the Carrot and Ginger Chai was also really delightful think about it as a hot liquid carrot cake. The ginger makes it not too sweet so it's a perfect balance of savory and sweet.
Adam the head juicer prepared me the Tropicali Smoothie (orange, pineapple, mango, papaya, carrot and mint) it was okay a little too sweet for my taste. Net time I think will try the British Invasion smoothie. it sounds more like my taste.
All in all Drink Houz was a great experience made possible by this great team.
Thank you much for being so warm and friendly while serving up a great lunch and letting me sample your best drinks and smoothies.
