Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

That Fall Feelin' with a Little BBQ!

That Fall Feelin' with a Little BBQ!

When you think about BBQ you think backyard, summer, cold beer and friends…and you’d be right! But craving for BBQ doesn’t just disappear when the clocks fall back in fact I dear say it might even increase! This past weekend I got the extra, extra craving for some good BBQ, I also been hearing about this BBQ spot in Sherman Oaks, CA called the Boneyard Bistro with one of best friends to kick off a relaxing Sunday Funday!

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. Boneyard BIstro makes a great selection of barbecue, with generous portions of meltingly tender meat. My friend and I decided to go BIG! by throwing down on the Evanator (1/3 rack of each Baby Back, St. Louis & Beef Ribs AND 1/3 meats (brisket, pulled pork and try-tip) 1/4 BBQ chicken for our sides we decided to be a little heathy with collard greens (they were great, as was the potato salad & fries (just wished they were bigger) just my preference.

But this Sunday wasn’t just about feeding face it was about feeding my spirit as well….my mom has played a huge part in holding me up until I was strong enough to stand on my own…enough to leave my house and enjoy a day out with a friend I’ve known for a long time was the best dessert. Our lunch was a quiet time against a lot of noise that has been going on in my life. From a heartbreaking break-up this spring to cutting ties with my toxic half brother to trying to find my balance again 2019 has been testing me at all levels…not sure if it’s because I’m turning 40 in a few months ending my 30s and therefore ending all the bullshit that has accompanied these past 10 years or if it’s just life dealing out some real life. I am not sure, but I do know I am more resilient then I ever gave myself enough credit for….but I am learning!

My posts have also been a place of peace and quiet to share about my adventures and new “foodie” finds and I am so grateful for the support and comments. I hope next year will be less noisy!

See what you can discover over racks and racks and racks of ribs! Lol
